Julian Apple Days is a two month celebration dedicated to the fall harvest of the “famous Julian apples”! The Apple Days festivities also include a 2 day Apple Days Festival located near Menghini Winery. However, the Apple Days harvest celebration and festivities last from mid-September through October – or “whenever the apples are gone”.Julian is located in San Diego County and part of the Cuyamaca Mountain range in Southern California. Although Julian is known for their “famous Julian apples”, the town is also known for its quaint old fashioned downtown atmosphere, antique shops, and multiple historical landmarks. During the Apple Days celebration you will find activities almost every weekend in downtown Julian. Some examples are craft fairs, art exhibits, melodrama performances, live music, and the famous historical skits by the Julian Doves and Desperados! The Apple Days harvest celebration has been held for over 100 years and is the way Julian recognizes the harvest of their “famous Julian apples”. Come and enjoy the local entertainment, and of course enjoy some apple pie! Apple Days in Julian is also the perfect time to pick apples – FRESH apples, straight off the tree and pesticide free! - Take a bag for apples and wander down the paths
- Wear tennis shoes, hat and sun screen
Other u pick apple orchards are scattered near the town of Julian. Depending on how well the current apple crop is and the activity from the prior picking seasons, some orchards stay closed for a season to recuperate and let the trees rest. When the Julian apple orchards are closed for a season, don’t worry! Keep them on your list for next year. Hopefully they will open the next apple harvest season and when you drop by - - you can pick your favorite apples again!  Main Street Downtown Julian
