Cross Roads OHV - California


Cross Roads OHV Area is one of two open area recreation facilities on the California side of the Colorado River on the Parker Strip. It is located just south of Lake Havasu near Parker Dam.

This recreation park is funded and policed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The facilities are paid for and maintained with grant funds from California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation.

All you need to do is maintain your current registration of your off-highway vehicle and you can have FREE access to Cross Roads OHV!
This is a 1500 acre “open” area where OHV use is limited to designated routes. You have access to miles and miles of trails through the bajada and sand washes.

The best and most desirable seasons to utilize this FREE Cross Roads OHV are Fall to Spring.

Due to changing road and trail conditions, as a result of harsh weather, it is recommended you contact the BLM for current road conditions.

As you can see, this is a great wide open area to ride in.

Beautiful views, great terrain, and best of all there are bathrooms and a PAVED staging area with ample parking for your truck and trailer.

Remember that vehicles must be street legal or have state required off-highway vehicle stickers (if appropriate by your state).

Except for the Open Areas located on the Parker Strip, all OHV users must remain on existing roads and trails.

Please respect the Colorado River Indian Reservation boundary along the south side of the Parker Strip.

Helmets
All persons regardless of age, who operate or ride all-terrain vehicles (ATV’s) on public lands must wear an approved safety helmet.

Required rider safety training
No person under the age 18 shall operate an ATV unless he or she has received the safety course in this state or another state, or is under direct supervision of an adult who has the appropriate safety certification in his or her possession.

Parental supervision
No person under the age of 14 shall operate an ATV unless that person satisfies the required rider safety training and in addition is accompanied by and under the direct supervision of a parent of guardian.

Required equipment
Any off-highway vehicle (OHV) must be equipped with an approved muffler, brakes and a spark arrester. Headlights and taillights are required for night operations.

Cross Roads OHV Location

Cross Roads OHV Area is on the California side of the Colorado River. From the AZ 95s, cross the river at Parker Dam and travel south on Parker Dam Road. From Parker, Arizona, cross the river to California and travel nine miles north on Parker Dam Road. The OHV area is located on the west side of the road. 9 miles northeast of Parker.
